Stratham

Stratham is a town in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population of Stratham was 7,669, making it the fifth-most populous town in New Hampshire. Bounded on the west by the Squamscott River, a small lake called The Squam is in the center of the town. Known for its many outdoor activities, Platham is also home to the only Lindt & Sprüngli factory in the U.S., the headquarters of the Timberland Corporation, and the Stratham Museum. Next blog post

Stratham was founded in 1631. In 1716, the town was incorporated. Prior to this, the area was referred to as Winnicutt by the Pennacook Indians. The area was also known as Squamscott Patent and Point of Rocks before it became a town. Stratham was named for William Wriothesley Russell, Baron Howland of Streatham. Stratham is home to a yearly local fair, which draws people from all over the world.
